A standard boiler service checks the boiler is working safely and efficiently. A strip-down service goes further: the engineer removes the burner and fan assembly to clean the inside of the heat exchanger and the parts that cause most breakdowns.

How long does a strip-down service take?
Usually 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the boiler and how dirty it is.
How often should I have a strip-down service?
Many engineers recommend one every 2 to 3 years, or sooner if the boiler is older, lives in a hard water area or has had combustion problems. London is a hard water area.
What if a part needs replacing?
Seals, gaskets and electrodes sometimes need renewing once disturbed. We tell you the price before fitting anything.
