Defects and actions

Any defect is written down with the action taken. If an appliance is unsafe, the engineer follows the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure, which may mean turning it off and labelling it. See failed gas safety checks.

The record

The record lists the property, landlord, date of the check, the number of appliances tested, the next check due date and the engineer’s Gas Safe number. See a sample landlord gas safety record.
