How to read your gas safety record
- Flue type: RS is room sealed (the safest type, like most modern boilers). OF is open flued, which takes air from the room, so ventilation and spillage tests matter. FL is flueless, like a gas hob.
- Pressure or heat input: proves the appliance burns the right amount of gas. Here, the boiler was measured at 25.12 kW.
- Flue flow and spillage: show fumes leave the building and do not come back into the room. Needed on open flued appliances like this gas fire.
- Safe to use: the engineer’s verdict for each appliance. All three passed.
- Next safety check due: the date your next landlord gas safety check must be done by.
- CO detector tested: in a rented home in England, a carbon monoxide alarm is required in any room with a fixed combustion appliance, such as a gas fire or boiler, but not a gas cooker. We can supply and fit one.
