Ideal Logic strip-down service
What our engineers do on a Ideal Logic strip-down, step by step.
Ideal Logic boilers have a fan and burner assembly on the front of the heat exchanger, with a condensate trap and sump below. This is what our Gas Safe engineers do on a Ideal Logic strip-down service. It covers Logic+ and Logic Max combi, system and heat boilers.
Step by step
- Isolate and open up. Turn off the gas, power and water, remove the case and note any fault codes.
- Remove fan and burner. Disconnect the gas and electrics and remove the fan and burner assembly.
- Inspect burner and gaskets. Check the burner and the burner gasket, renewing any gasket that is damaged.
- Clean the heat exchanger. Clean the combustion side of the heat exchanger and clear the sump.
- Clean the condensate trap. Remove and clean the trap. Blocked condensate is one of the most common Ideal Logic faults.
- Check the electrode. Inspect the ignition electrode, check the gap and renew it if worn.
- Rebuild and test. Reassemble, gas tightness test, and flue gas analysis to Ideal’s limits.
- Final checks. Check the expansion vessel, system pressure, controls and safety devices.
Common Ideal Logic faults a strip-down helps prevent: L2 ignition lockouts, F2 flame loss and condensate blockages.
Price
A Ideal Logic strip-down service is £175, or £260 with a landlord gas safety certificate on the same visit. If a seal, gasket or electrode needs renewing, we tell you the price before fitting it.
